This beautiful pub, hotel & restaurant rests sympathetically in the heart of leafy Stamfordham and is quite simply one of Northumbria’s finest culinary establishments.
We are open 7 days a week for food and drink between 12:00 and 11:00. Our steak night has started again as has our pensioners lunch on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.
Originally a Coaching Inn dating c.1590, this majestic building has served many purposes throughout history and is now host to new owners Jonathon Evans and Siobhan Rooney. The cuisine on offer in the Bay Horse is reflective of true Northumbrian demand, but also reflects country dining at it’s very best. Jonathon’s expertise within the industry has catapulted this Northumbrian jewel to the acclaim it deserves. Jonathon, who is the head chef and owner, has a platinum reputation and has worked recently of late for Lumley Castle, Gleneagles and Mal Maison to name a few.
Alongside Jonathon in the kitchen is Craig Harvey who has also worked in premier establishments such as Claridge’s, Café 21 and London’s very own Café Royal. This dynamic “Culinary Duo” have delivered an aura of Northumbrian mystic and have excited hundreds of diner’s with their creative mouth-watering dishes.
